To install and mount the RTscan RT240 Fixed Mount 2D Barcode Scanner, please follow the steps below:
1. Mounting Bracket: The scanner comes with two types of mounting brackets - Type A and Type B. Choose the appropriate mounting bracket based on your requirements.
2. Mechanical Mounting: Use the mechanical mounting dimensions provided in the user guide to ensure proper installation. Leave some space between components to avoid interference.
3. Power Supply: Connect the scanner to a stable power supply. Unstable power supply or sharp voltage drops may lead to unstable performance. When cutting off the power, wait for at least 3 seconds before resupplying it.
4. Window Placement: Position the window properly to allow the illumination and aiming beams to pass through without any reflections back into the engine. Mount the window close to the front of the scanner, parallel to it. Avoid unwanted reflections and use thin material for the window for better reading performance.
5. Window Material and Color: Choose a window material and color that allows the highest spectral transmission and lowest blurriness. PMMA or optical glass with spectral transmittance over 90% and blurriness less than 1% is recommended. Consider using an anti-reflection coating based on material and application needs.
6. Scratch Resistance and Coating: To maintain optimal performance, use an abrasion-resistant window material or coating to prevent scratches on the window.
7. Window Size: Ensure that the window size does not block the field of view and accommodates the aiming and illumination envelopes mentioned in the user guide.
8. Ambient Light: The scanner may perform better with ambient light, but high-frequency pulsed light can result in performance degradation.
9. Eye Safety: The scanner has bright LEDs that create the aiming and illumination beams. Avoid looking directly into the beam. For safety, it is recommended to mount the scanner face down or use a specially designed cover to protect the user's eyes from LED flashing.
By following these steps, you should be able to correctly install and mount the RTscan RT240 Fixed Mount 2D Barcode Scanner. If you need further technical support, you can contact RTscan at Support@rtscan.net.
