To calibrate the OHAUS AR2140-2EO Adventurer Analytical Balance, you can perform either a Span Calibration or a Linearity Calibration. Here are the steps for each calibration method:
Span Calibration:
1. Turn on the balance by pressing the "O/T" button.
2. Press and hold the "O/T" button until "CAL" is displayed.
3. Release the "O/T" button. The display will show "-C-" followed by the value of the calibration mass that needs to be placed on the pan.
4. Place the indicated span calibration mass on the pan.
5. Press the "O/T" button. The display will briefly show "-C-" followed by the weight of the calibration mass on the pan.
6. Remove the calibration mass from the pan. The balance is now calibrated and will return to the weighing mode.
Linearity Calibration:
1. Turn off the balance by pressing and holding the "Mode Off" button until the display turns off.
2. Press and hold the "O/T" button until "MENU" is displayed, then release it. The display will show "UNITS".
3. Press the "Mode Off" button repeatedly until "LIN" is displayed.
4. Press the "O/T" button. The display will show "-C-" followed by the value of the first calibration mass that needs to be placed on the pan.
5. Place the required calibration mass on the pan and briefly press the "O/T" button. The display will show "-C-" followed by the value of the next calibration mass to be placed on the pan.
6. Repeat step 5 for each calibration mass required.
7. When the weight on the pan is displayed with the stability indicator, the balance is calibrated and will return to the weighing mode.
8. Remove the calibration masses from the pan.
It is important to use the correct calibration masses for each calibration procedure. Refer to the "CALIBRATION MASSES" table in the manual for the required masses.
Please note that if you do not have the necessary calibration masses or if you encounter any issues during calibration, it is recommended to contact OHAUS Corporation's Aftermarket Department or Customer Service for assistance.
