To properly install the Honeywell GSS Series GSAA01A1B General Purpose Safety Switches, follow these steps:
1. Consult with local safety agencies and their requirements when designing a machine-control link, interface, and all control elements that affect safety.
2. Strictly adhere to all installation instructions provided in the instruction manual.
3. Mount the switch using four M5 or #10 screws. Torque the screws to 4.9 Nm to 5.9 Nm [43 in-lb to 52 in-lb].
4. Remove the screws on the cover plate.
5. Connect stranded wire (0.75 mm2 to 2.5 mm2, 18-14 AWG) or solid wire (0.75 mm2 to 1.5 mm2, 18-16 AWG) to the connector terminals. Use 90 °C wire when the ambient temperature is over 75 °C. Torque the switch terminal screws to 0.8 Nm to 1.0 Nm [7 in-lb to 9 in-lb].
6. Seal the conduit opening according to the instructions provided in PK 80112.
7. Reassemble the cover plate and torque the cover screws to 0.5 Nm [4.4 in-lb].
