To assemble the SPYKER P30 Commercial Tow Spreader, follow these steps:
1. Install the spinner to the spinner shaft by pressing down on the spinner until it snaps into place on the roll pin.
2. Insert the axle/transmission assembly into the frame, ensuring that the orientation is correct. One side of the assembly should have a hole near the end of the axle, while the other side should have a hole next to the frame.
3. Slide the axle bearings over the axle and into place in the frame.
4. Install a 5/8" metal washer, axle spacer, and a second 5/8" metal washer onto the axle. Slide the wheel onto the axle. Repeat on the other side.
5. On the drive side of the axle, insert the small clevis pin through the holes in the wheel and axle. Install the small cotter pin.
6. On the other side of the axle, install a wheel washer and rue ring locking pin.
7. Place the hopper onto the frame, making sure to slide the spinner shaft into the hopper.
8. Insert 1/4" nylon washers onto 1/4-20 x 1-3/4" bolts. Insert the bolts through the hopper and frame, and attach them finger tight with 1/4" nylon insert locknuts. Repeat for the remaining bolts, washers, and nuts. Tighten fully.
9. Slide the felt washer over the spinner shaft. Insert the agitator wire by sliding it through the hole in the spinner shaft. Note the orientation of the agitator wire when installing.
10. Install the hitch tow bar onto the frame. Attach it with a 1/4-20 x 1-3/4" bolt and 1/4" nylon insert locknut.
11. Install the hitch plates to the end of the tow bar using 1/4-20 x 1-3/4" bolts and 1/4" nylon insert locknuts. Install the hitch pin and large cotter pin.
12. Slide the control lever into the U-shaped bracket, ensuring that the label on the bracket faces the hopper.
13. Install the control linkage into the control lever, noting the orientation of the on-off label on the U-shaped bracket.
14. Install a 1/4-20 x 1-1/4" bolt and 1/4" washer through the U-shaped bracket. From inside the bracket, install a nylon spacer, thick nylon washer, and a second 1/4" washer and 1/4" nylon insert locknut. Tighten.
15. Turn the control bracket assembly sideways. Install the end of the linkage into the rate gate bracket.
16. Install the front of the control lever assembly onto the tow bar with a 1/4-20 x 1-3/4" bolt, 1/4" washer (one on each side of the tow bar), and 1/4" nylon insert locknut. Do not fully tighten at this point.
17. Install the frame braces to the frame using 1/4-20 x 1-3/4" bolts, 1/4" washers (one on each side), and 1/4" nylon insert locknuts.
18. Attach the frame braces to the tow tube/control lever assembly using a 1/4-20 x 2" bolt, 1/4" washers (one on each side), and 1/4" nylon insert locknut.
19. With the rate gate dial set to 0, move the control lever back and forth to ensure that the rate gate opens and closes fully. Adjust the control lever bracket assembly if necessary. Fully tighten the hardware that holds the control lever bracket in place.
20. Install the screen into the spreader.
