To start up the Sunpak S34-TSH Gas-Fired High-Intensity Infrared Heater, follow these steps:
1. Make sure the heater is securely mounted and clearances from combustible materials have been observed.
2. Verify that the gas line is properly connected and there are no leaks.
3. Ensure that 24 VAC power is properly connected to the heater. Do not apply 120 VAC to the heater as it will damage the switch and other controls.
4. Turn on the manual gas valve.
5. Set the switch to the high setting for the first 5 minutes to allow the heater to warm up.
6. If the heater locks out, switch to OFF to reset the heater and repeat the start-up sequence.
7. If the heater locks out several times, there may still be air in the gas line. Allow more time for air to bleed from the gas line on new installations.
Note: Some white smoke may appear during or just after the initial start-up of the heater. This is normal and will dissipate with use.
