To install the ADDVENT AVWH2X Whole-House Extract System, follow these steps:
1. Choose a suitable location for the unit, considering the rooms to be ventilated, exhaust position, and electrical services. Ensure there is adequate access for installation and maintenance.
2. If the unit is installed in the heated void of the dwelling, a condensate drain may not be necessary. However, if it is installed in a cold loft, consider fitting a condensate drain or externally insulating the unit and ducting to minimize condensation.
3. To reduce system resistance in the duct system, follow these guidelines:
- Keep the length of duct runs to a minimum, especially the exhaust duct run.
- Ensure flexible ducting is fully extended and not crushed, sagging, or torn.
- Minimize the use of diffusers/valves by having similar length duct runs to the inlets.
- Maintain a bend radius (measured to the inside of the bend) of at least 1x the duct diameter.
- Avoid having bends, filters, or obstructions within 250mm of the fan inlets and outlet.
4. Securely mount the unit through the mounting holes on the casing using appropriate fixings for the mounting substrate. Consider using anti-vibration mounts, acoustic mat, or rubber bushes for additional support.
5. Ensure the unit is mounted with the cover removal slots facing downwards or in any orientation except facing upwards.
6. Connect a suitable mains power cable from a switched, fused spur to the xxxx terminal block. Use the cable clamps and clip provided to secure the lead.
7. Connect the Live Switched (LS) inputs to trigger a change in speed. LS1 and LS2 connections are provided, and common inputs can be from a bathroom lighting circuit. Alternatively, other switches or controllers can be connected to the LS terminal.
8. If using accessories, such as humidity sensors or digital inputs, use 4-core, low voltage, twisted pair, telecoms type cable for connections. Refer to the provided connection diagram for the specific wiring details.
9. Once the unit is installed and wired, it can be commissioned and configured using the 3-digit user interface and associated push buttons. Refer to the "Commissioning" section in the manual for detailed instructions on adjusting settings, speeds, and actions.
10. Regularly inspect and clean the fan to ensure there is no significant buildup of dirt or deposits. The fan has sealed-for-life bearings and does not require lubrication. Check all fixings are tight and secure.
Please note that this is a general overview of the installation process. For more detailed instructions and safety precautions, refer to the complete ADDVENT AVWH2X Whole-House Extract System Instruction Manual.
