To connect the dBooster2 to your microphone and preamp, follow these steps:
1. Make sure to make all connections before activating phantom power and turning up your preamp level control.
2. For microphones, connect the microphone to the INPUT of the dBooster2 using a standard 3-conductor XLR microphone cable.
3. For Hi-Z DI (direct injection) mode, connect the source (such as a guitar) to the INPUT of the dBooster2 using a standard two-conductor ¼-inch guitar type cable.
4. Connect the OUTPUT of the dBooster2 to your preamplifier, DAW, or audio interface that is enabled with phantom power capability.
5. Apply phantom power and slowly bring up the preamp level to verify that the microphone or DI input is passing signal.
Note: The dBooster2 is a mic-level device and is not intended to drive line-level inputs directly. Use the lowest gain setting that provides satisfactory results for the best performance with minimal noise and distortion. Higher gain settings are suitable for very low-output signal sources or low-gain preamplifiers.
