To crimp the connector onto the wire, refer to the tool chart on the reverse side of the instruction manual. The tool chart will help you select the appropriate crimp tool and die for the connector. The number of crimps to be placed in the connector is indicated in parentheses next to the die color code and die index number in the tool chart. Start by placing the first crimp in the barrel near the tongue of the lug or wire stop in the splice. Place successive crimps in the barrel of the connector, working towards the wire entry. Evenly space the crimps on the barrel of the connector using the barrel stripes as a guide. After crimping, inspect for sharp edges, flash, or burrs and remove them if present.
