To install the HINKLEY 902928 36 Inch SAWYER Indoor and Outdoor LED Fan, follow these steps:
1. Before starting the installation, make sure to turn off the electricity at the main power box.
2. Read the installation instructions and review the diagrams thoroughly.
3. Mount a UL listed outlet box suitable for fan support if one is not already present. The outlet box must be able to support a minimum of 35 pounds.
4. Attach the hanging bracket to the outlet box using the screws provided.
5. Remove the ball from the downrod and slide it down. Remove the ball pin and set it aside.
6. Support the fan body (motor) in its styrofoam packing with the mounting collar facing upward.
7. Loosen the security set screws and remove the downrod pin and retaining clip from the coupling on top of the motor assembly.
8. Feed the electrical lead wires and safety cable from the fan through the downrod. Thread the downrod into the coupler until the holes align. Insert the downrod pin through the holes in the mounting collar and downrod, and secure it with the cotter pin.
9. Tighten the security set screws against the downrod using a large flat blade screwdriver. Tighten the nuts against the mounting collar.
10. Slide the yoke cover, c-ring, trim ring, and canopy onto the downrod.
11. Slide the hanger ball onto the downrod, insert the cross pin through the downrod, and tighten the set xxxx .
12. Lift the ball/downrod/fan into the hanger bracket opening. Make sure the tab opposite the hanger bracket opening fits into the groove in the hanger ball.
13. Make the necessary wire connections according to the electrical connections section in the manual.
14. Slide the canopy up to the mounting bracket and secure it with the provided screws.
15. Install the safety cable support by attaching the wood xxxx and flat washer to the ceiling joist, looping the safety cable around the wood xxxx , and tightening the xxxx in the clamp. Cut off any excess cable.
16. Restore power and test the fan to ensure it is working properly.
