To install the Multi Nautic 15524 Polished and Anodized Ladder with the Flip-Up Kit, follow these steps:
1. Start by positioning the triangular bases at the desired location on the dock, using the ladder as a guide. Ensure that the bases are parallel and mark the holes.
2. xxxx the 16" board lengths under the dock decking to serve as reinforcements. This will help distribute the pressure on the bolts and strengthen the installation. If you cannot access the underside of the dock, you may need to remove a few boards from the decking to install these reinforcements.
3. Pre-drill the bolt locations through the decking and reinforcement boards using a cordless drill with an 11/32" drill bit.
4. Connect the steel cables to the small holes on the aluminum bases to avoid losing the positioning pins.
5. Place a protective disk between the triangular base and the ladder. Lightly tighten the pivot bolt, leaving enough clearance to allow the ladder to swing up and down.
If your ladder does not already have holes for the flip-up system, you will need to drill them. Ensure that the handrail portion above the dock does not exceed 21 1/4". Follow these steps to drill the handrail uprights:
1. Using a 7/16" drill bit, make the pivot holes 10 5/8" from the base of the ladder.
2. Drill the positioning holes below the pivot hole using your ladder as a guide (in raised and lowered positions) or by measuring 2 5/8" above and below the pivot hole.
If you have any concerns or further questions about the installation process, please contact Multi Nautic's Customer Service at 1-800-585-1237 or email them at INFO@MULTINAUTIC.COM. They will be able to assist you further.
Remember to assemble the ladder properly, enjoy using it, and feel free to share your experience!
