To charge the batteries for the soundmaster CD9220 Portable CD player, follow these steps:
1. Open the battery compartment cover.
2. Insert two recommended rechargeable batteries (1.2V 1300mA Ni-MH) into the battery compartment, making sure to match the polarity.
3. Plug in the AC adapter to the 5V DC input on the CD player and to a wall outlet.
4. Set the Recharge switch to the ON position to start charging.
5. After approximately 12 hours, unplug the AC adapter and switch the Recharge switch to the OFF position.
6. If the operating time of the batteries decreases significantly, even after proper charging, it may be time to purchase a new set of rechargeable batteries.
Note: It is important to use only the provided AC adapter for charging and to avoid charging in humid conditions or with a damaged plug. Also, do not charge continuously for 24 hours or more, as it may deteriorate the performance of the rechargeable batteries.
