To connect the UMG 96 RM-E Power Analyser to a PC via the RS485 interface, you will need a twisted screened cable. The cable should be terminated with resistors (120 ohm, 1/4W) at the beginning and end of the segment. The RS485 interface on the UMG 96 RM-E is a 2-pin plug contact. The A and B pins of the RS485 interface should be connected to the corresponding A and B pins on the PC or other devices in the RS485 network. It is important to ensure that the screens of all cables leading to the cabinet are earthed upon entering the cabinet, and the screens should be connected to a low-noise earth over a generous area. The recommended cable type for the RS485 connection is Unitronic Li2YCY(TP) 2x2x0.22. The maximum cable length for the RS485 connection is 1200m at a baud rate of 38.4k.
