To configure the Silex DS-700AC Remote USB Device Server, please follow these steps:
1. Power On:
- Connect the DS-700AC to your wireless router using a network cable.
- Connect the AC adaptor to the DS-700AC and plug it into a power outlet.
- Confirm that the POWER LED turns Green.
2. Configuration:
- Download the necessary utilities and user manuals from the Silex Technology website (URL: https://www.silextechnology.com/).
- Disable the firewall function of your computer temporarily during the configuration.
- Extract the Device Server Setup file that you downloaded.
- Configure the DS-700AC using the Device Server Setup utility according to the instructions in the Device Server Configuration guide (PDF file).
- Unplug the AC plug of the DS-700AC from the outlet to restart it. If you want to use the DS-700AC wirelessly, unplug the network cable as well. Connect the DS-700AC to the USB device that you want to use over the network and plug the AC plug back into the outlet.
- The settings will take effect after the DS-700AC is restarted by unplugging/plugging the AC plug.
- Note that the USB 3.0 port of the DS-700AC does not support connection with a USB HUB, USB HUB embedded device, and USB video converter.
3. Using the USB Devices over Network:
- Install the SX Virtual Link software program on your computer. If it is not already installed, extract the SX Virtual Link file that you downloaded and follow the instructions in the SX Virtual Link Installation manual.
- Start the SX Virtual Link by clicking the application icon in the task tray or going to the Start menu and clicking silexTools - SXVirtual Link.
- Connect the USB devices by selecting them and clicking the Connect button. If it's the first time using a USB device, you may need to install the device driver.
- The USB device will be ready to use once the status icon changes to connected. Refer to the operating manual of your USB device for instructions on how to use it.
- Disconnect the USB devices by selecting them and clicking the Disconnect button.
