To install the SDC 527 SARGENT 8800 and Arrow S1250 Series Monitoring Switch Kit, please follow the provided installation instructions:
1. Remove the access cover from the push bar.
2. Attach the switch(es) to the switch plate using the supplied screws.
3. Slide the switch assembly into the open end of the access cover, all the way through to the other end.
4. Insert and tighten the Phillips pan head xxxx to lock the switch assembly in place.
5. Slide the access cover with the switch assembly back into the push bar.
These steps should ensure proper installation of the monitoring switch kit.
Additionally, the SDC 527 SARGENT 8800 and Arrow S1250 Series Monitoring Switch Kit has various applications:
1. Remote Latch Status Monitoring: Depressing the push pad to retract the latch provides an output signal for local or remote visual and audible annunciation, indicating forced entry or unauthorized egress.
2. Access Control REX: When connected to the Request-To-Exit input of a keypad, card, or biometric Access Controller, depressing the pushpad and retracting the latch actuates the Latch Status contact. This shunts the control access control alarm to permit authorized egress and/or releases the magnetic door lock for uninhibited egress.
3. Magnetic Lock Release: If an Access Controller with REX input is unavailable, the normally closed (N/C) contact of the switch can be wired in series between the power supply and a fail-safe magnetic lock. Depressing the exit device pushpad retracts the latch, causing the contact to open and releasing the magnetic lock for uninhibited egress.
4. Mantrap Logic: The monitoring switch kit provides normally open (N/O) and normally closed (N/C) contacts required for interlock and mantrap applications involving two or more communicating doors.
