To install the GE current LPL Gen C Series Lumination LED Luminaire, follow these steps:
1. Before you begin, make sure to read the installation instructions completely and carefully. Turn off the power before inspection, installation, or removal. Properly ground the electrical enclosure.
2. Prepare the electrical wiring. The LED luminaire must be connected to the mains supply according to its ratings on the product label. Class 1 wiring should be in accordance with NEC. The grounding and bonding of the overall system should be done in accordance with the local electric code of the country where the luminaire is installed.
3. Carefully unpack the unit from its packaging and inspect it for any defects. Wear work gloves to prevent dirt and oil from being transferred to the luminaire.
4. Remove the fixture from the package. The default lumen level is high (H) and the default CCT is 4000K. If you want a different lumen level or CCT, remove the switch cover and set it to the desired level or CCT using a screwdriver. Then re-attach the cover.
5. Insert the luminaire into the T-bar ceiling grid. Make sure the unit does not move freely within the ceiling grid. To ensure a consistent appearance, align fixtures in the same orientation throughout the ceiling pattern. Bend the brackets on the back plate to ensure they hook to the T-Bar.
6. Secure the safety cable to the connection hole as needed to meet local seismic requirements. The safety cable and method of attachment to the building should be provided by the contractor according to local building codes.
7. For electrical connections, remove the electrical enclosure cover. Carefully remove the knockout for AC line input wires and install listed electrical fittings in the knockout holes for wire protection.
8. Connect the AC line to the black (line) and white (neutral) input wires of the LED driver using 18-14 AWG twist-on wire connectors. Connect the ground wire to the green-yellow ground wire of the LED driver. If connecting a dimming controller, the wires must run through a separate knockout hole equipped with an appropriate wire restraint or cable gland. Then re-attach and fix the enclosure cover with a screwdriver.
9. Optional Installation: 0-10V Volt Dimming. If you want to use 0-10V dimming, follow the diagram provided. Run wires from the controller through a different knockout than the AC input wire. Make appropriate connections using twist-on wire connectors at the output side of the fixture. If combining with other products, please follow the installation instructions provided with those products.
Note: If you are not connecting with dimming leads, cover the dimming leads with wire nuts.
