To position the shock cord opening on the CAOS 300011099 Spare Wheel Bag, you need to find the most accessible area between the vehicle and the tire on your spare wheel setup. The bag comes set up with the two hooks on the "X" straps to meet at the top for maximum room to clip together. However, if the top doesn't work best for your vehicle, you can remove the shock cord from the "X" straps and relocate them to the sides or bottom. For example, if you have a swing-away spare wheel setup, you would want to position the two hooks to meet where the arm attaches to the wheel. If your spare wheel is supported from beneath, you may want the hooks to meet at the bottom. If there is no easy access to hooks in the mounted position, you may need to loosen or remove your spare wheel to create a gap for the shock cord to pass through. Make sure to thread the shock cord back through the "X" straps without any twists and ensure each end has a red pull tag attached.
