To clean the cooking plates of the Sage SGR700 BBQ and Press Grill, you have two options.
Option 1: Wipe the cooking plates with a soft cloth to remove food residue. If needed, you can use a non-abrasive liquid cleanser or mild spray solution applied to a sponge to avoid build-up of stains. Rinse the plates and let them dry thoroughly before re-inserting them into the grill.
Option 2: Release and remove the cooking plates for a more thorough cleaning. Ensure the grill is completely cool before proceeding. Use the plate release on the front, right side of the top plate to remove the top cooking plate, and the plate release on the right side of the control panel to remove the bottom cooking plate. Once released, gently slide the plates off the grill. You can then place the cooking plates in the dishwasher (top shelf only) or wash them in hot soapy water with a soft, damp sponge. If there is stubborn residue, you can use a non-abrasive plastic scouring pad or nylon washing brush. Rinse the plates and dry them thoroughly before re-inserting them into the grill.
Remember not to use abrasive cleansers or metal scouring pads on the cooking plates, as these can damage the non-stick coating.
