When selecting a mounting location for the PANORAMA ANTENNAS FINB Series Antenna Base, there are a few factors to consider. First, ensure that the antenna is fitted on a conductive ground plane of minimum ½ wavelength diameter at the lowest frequency of operation. To calculate the minimum diameter, use the formula: 150 / frequency in MHz = 1⁄2 wavelength (m). For example, at 150MHz, the minimum diameter would be 100cm (39.4").
If you are fitting the antenna on a non-metallic panel, you will need to fabricate and fit a ground plane plate of suitable size under the mounting panel. The securing washer and nut must make a low resistance electrical contact (< 0.2Ω) with the ground plane.
Additionally, ensure that there is adequate under panel clearance and no double skin panel or cross brace present at the selected mounting location. If applicable, measure to check for central position.
It is important to follow these guidelines to ensure optimal performance of the antenna. For more detailed instructions, please refer to the PANORAMA ANTENNAS FINB Series Antenna Base Installation Guide.
