To change the cutting action on the Makita DJV180 Cordless Jig Saw, you can use either an orbital or a straight line cutting action. Here's how to do it:
1. Locate the cutting action changing lever on the tool. It is labeled with the numbers 0, I, II, and III.
2. Turn the cutting action changing lever to the desired cutting action position:
- Position 0: Straight line cutting action for cutting mild steel, stainless steel, plastics, wood, and plywood.
- Position I: Small orbit cutting action for cutting mild steel, aluminum, and hard wood.
- Position II: Medium orbit cutting action for cutting wood, plywood, aluminum, and mild steel.
- Position III: Large orbit cutting action for fast cutting in wood and plywood.
3. Once you have selected the desired cutting action, you can start using the jig saw with the new cutting action.
