To clean and maintain the Honeywell IFU-PWP Arc Flash Protective Garments, follow these instructions:
1. Cleaning the fabric component:
- Remove the fabric component from the shield and hard hat assembly before washing.
- Wash the fabric component in mild soapy lukewarm water or an ultrasonic bath.
- Rinse thoroughly and dry with cleaning paper or a lint-free cloth.
- Do not wash the fabric component in temperatures over 140ºF (60ºC).
- Tumble dry at a normal temperature.
- Do not use chlorine bleaches or oxygen bleaches containing sodium hypochlorite or hydrogen peroxide, as they may affect the protective properties of the garment.
2. Cleaning the face shield:
- Wash the face shield with mild detergent and water.
- Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth or chamois.
- If required, disassemble the frame at the joints and remove the window to clean the entire assembly.
- Do not disassemble the pivot mechanism.
- The face shield components can be cleaned by washing with mild detergent under running water and air drying.
3. Maintenance and obsolescence:
- Keep the PPE clean and dry to maintain its protective properties.
- Inspect the PPE before each use and replace any damaged or worn-out parts.
- Replace the face shield if there are scratches that restrict vision.
- The expected shelf life of the PPE is five years if it has never been opened or used and all layers of packaging are intact.
- The expected service life of the product is five years from the date of first donning, provided proper care and maintenance instructions are followed.
- Suspend the usage of PPE if there is any mechanical damage or other damage during the service life.
