To program the Genie 2-Button Universal Garage Door Opener Remote to your garage door opener, follow these steps:
1. Clear any existing programming from the remote by pressing and holding down BOTH buttons at the same time until the GREEN LED blinks and goes out (approximately 10 seconds).
2. Determine the specific programming instructions for your garage door opener brand. Refer to the remote instruction manual for the compatibility chart or visit the Genie website for updated compatibility information.
3. For most rolling code brands, press and hold down both buttons on the remote until the RED LED begins flashing, then release both buttons.
4. Press the button of your choice on the remote four times.
5. Wait until the GREEN LED blinks and goes out.
6. Press and hold down the button you just chose until the GREEN LED blinks and goes out again (approximately 5 seconds), then release.
7. On your garage door opener, press the LEARN/PROGRAM button for 2-3 seconds and then release.
8. Press the remote button you chose ONE time. The opener will click.
9. On the opener, press the LEARN/PROGRAM button again for 2-3 seconds, then release.
10. Press the remote button you chose ONE time again. The opener will click again.
11. Press the remote button again and the opener will activate.
12. Test the button to ensure programming is complete.
