To properly use the GIMA M28549EN Ring Shaped Cushion, follow these steps:
1. Visually check the integrity of the cushion before use. If you notice any abnormalities, contact the point of sale immediately.
2. The cushion is designed for decubitus prevention in wheelchair-bound patients. It helps decrease pressure peaks, reduce shear and friction forces, and promote air circulation.
3. Although the cushion is effective in preventing decubitus, it cannot control all factors that contribute to its onset. It is recommended to regularly monitor the affected area, frequently move the patient, and maintain good hygiene.
4. The cushion is made from silicone hollow fiber padding enclosed in a sanforized cotton cover. It has Velcro fasteners for secure attachment to the wheelchair.
5. Place the cushion on the seat sheet of the wheelchair, ensuring that the Velcro fasteners are positioned on the backrest side.
6. Secure the cushion to a rigid wheelchair structure using the Velcro fasteners.
7. Store the cushion away from sources of light, heat, and humidity. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight.
8. When disposing of the cushion, follow the current regulations on environmental protection and recycling.
