To install the FIELD CONTROLS CAC-120 Combustion Air Control, follow these steps:
1. Mount the junction box: The junction box should be mounted in a vertical position on a wall or floor joist, away from heat sources and in a dry location.
2. Wiring: Wire the controls according to the National Electrical Code, manufacturer's recommendations, and applicable local codes. Make sure the unit is properly grounded and protected by an overcurrent circuit device rated at 15 amperes.
3. Install the 120 VAC relay: Insert the 120 VAC relay into the socket on the CAC-120 and secure it with the retaining clip.
4. Pressure Tube Connections to CAS fan unit: Install the two supplied plastic compression tee fittings on the CAS fan unit. Cut the aluminum pressure tubes and connect the plastic fittings onto the ends of the tubes. Insert the longer cut-off tube end into the leg of the tee fitting aligned with the hole on the left side of the CAS inlet collar. Insert the other cut-off tube end into the leg of the other tee fitting aligned with the hole on the right side of the CAS inlet collar.
5. Connect CAC-24/120 pressure switch to CAS pressure tube fittings: Push the ends of the two supplied plastic tubing lengths into the open tee fitting ports on the CAS. Route the tubes to the CAC pressure switch, securing them with tube clamps if necessary. Connect the plastic tube connected to the CAS tee on the left to the black-colored (+) port of the CAC pressure switch. Connect the other plastic tube to the grey-colored (-) port on the CAC pressure switch.
6. System maintenance/checkout procedure: Inspect the system annually to ensure proper operation. Disconnect power to the CAS unit and check if the unit runs and the appliance fires. Inspect the duct pipe for cracks and secure connections. Clear any obstructions from the vent hood and CAS unit. Periodically clean the fan blade chamber.
