To install the KUFATEC 40650 Complete kit Active Sound incl Sound Booster for Audi A3 8V, please follow the assembly instructions provided in the instruction manual. Here is a summary of the installation process:
1. Remove the trim panels at the dashboard to access the cable routing area.
2. Begin the cable routing from the driver's side a-pillar to the rear left, where the external sound generator will be installed.
3. Remove the front sill trim and the trim panel of the b-pillar to route the cable under the trim panels towards the trunk.
4. Remove the trim panel in the trunk on the left to route the cable behind the trunk trim panel.
5. Guide the cable through the grommet and ensure waterproofing.
6. Install the external sound generator at the longitudinal beam rear left and at the bumper, and connect it with the routed cable.
7. Use high tensile screws to securely fix the Sound Booster, and use appropriate factory material (e.g., thread lock) to prevent loosening due to vibration.
8. Install the control units in the area of the driver's footwell, specifically in the a-pillar. Connect the ground cable to the ground spot located under the control units.
9. Connect the wire for ignition plus to the free fuse spot no. 48 and protect the wire with a 7.5A fuse. Use a voltmeter to ensure the correct connection to the ignition plus.
10. Connect the CAN wires to the red plug of the CAN gateway, following the specified cable colors and pin numbers. Insulate the connection points.
11. Install the pushbutton for switching between sound profiles, such as below the dashboard front left. Use a 7mm drill for the drilling process.
12. Reassemble the trim panels in the reverse order.
13. Allow for a can bus sleep mode of at least 10 minutes (lock the vehicle) before completing the installation.
14. Once installed, you can switch between the sound profiles using the push button, with options ranging from restrained sound (profiles 1-3) to powerful V6/V8 sound (profiles 4-6).
