To install the USB drivers for the Ossila Source Measure Unit, you have three options: automatic installation, installation from executable, and manual installation. Here are the steps for each method:
1. Automatic Installation:
- Connect the USB cable and power on the Source Measure Unit.
- The unit will be detected automatically, and the drivers will be downloaded and installed.
- It will appear in the Device Manager under the "Ports (COM & LTP)" section as "USB Serial Device (COM#)".
2. Installation from Executable:
- Locate the executables for installing the USB drivers. You can find them on the USB drive provided with the equipment or download them from the Ossila website at ossila.com/pages/software-drivers.
- Open the SMU-driver folder and run either "Windows 32-bit SMU Driver" or "Windows 64-bit SMU Driver" based on your system type.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
- If you are unsure about your system type, you can check it by opening "About your PC" or "System Properties" and looking under "Device specifications".
3. Manual Installation:
- If the drivers fail to install properly and the unit appears under the "Other devices" section as "XTRALIEN", you can perform a manual installation.
- Right-click on "XTRALIEN" under the "Other devices" section and choose "Update driver software...".
- Select "Browse my computer for driver software".
- Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer" and click next.
- Choose "Ports (COM & LTP)" and click next.
- Select "Arduino LCC" from the manufacturer list and "Arduino Due" from the model list.
- Wait for the device driver installation wizard to finish the installation.
- If the installation is successful, the unit will appear as "Arduino Due (COMX)" under the "Ports (COM & LPT)" section of the Device Manager.
Please refer to the manual for visual representations of the Device Manager and installation steps.
