To use the steam function on the VS Sassoon VSS9900A Steam Straight Brilliance, follow these steps:
1. Fill either the base station water reservoir or the straightener water reservoir with distilled water. The base station water reservoir holds 100ml of water, while the straightener water reservoir holds 10ml of water.
2. If using the base station, ensure that the black rubber plug on the bottom of the base station is tightly closed. Lift the black rubber plug on the top of the base station water reservoir and fill it with distilled water. Replace the black rubber plug.
3. Place the base station on a heat-protective, flat-level surface and push down to secure the suction feet.
4. If using the straightener water reservoir, remove it from the bottom of the straightener by pulling the release switch down. Lift the black rubber plug and fill the reservoir with distilled water. Replace the black rubber plug and ensure it is properly positioned and secured in place.
5. Turn on the straightener by pressing the On/Off button. The default temperature setting of 140°C will start flashing.
6. Press the steam button once to switch on the steam function. The steam LED indicator will illuminate.
7. When using the steam function with the plates closed, the straightener will make a clicking sound as the pump pushes the water through the inside mechanism.
8. Start styling your hair as usual, making sure to hold the straightener away from your body and closing the plates to operate the steam function.
9. To refill the straightener water reservoir, you can click the straightener onto the base station in between brushing and sectioning your hair. Ensure that the straightener water reservoir is nearly or completely empty of water before placing it onto the base station for refilling.
10. After use, empty all the water reservoirs by following the instructions in the manual.
Remember to always use distilled water and take caution to avoid contact with hot surfaces and steam to prevent burns or discomfort.
