Before installing and using the WMF Folie 1 Coffee Machine, there are a few important steps to follow:
1. Arrange on-site preparatory work: The machine owner/operator is responsible for arranging any necessary on-site preparatory work for electricity, water, and drainage connections. This work should be carried out by authorized installation technicians in compliance with general, country-specific, and local regulations.
2. Connect to existing prepared connection points: The WMF service engineers can only connect the coffee machine to existing prepared connection points. They are not authorized or responsible for carrying out any on-site installation work prior to connection.
3. Ensure proper dimensions and weight: The coffee machine has dimensions of 723mm (width) x 580mm (height) x 540mm (depth). The clearance heights for the spouts and hot water outlet are also provided in the manual. The empty weight of the machine is approximately 75kg.
4. Water supply requirements: The coffee machine requires a water supply line with a minimum pressure of 0.05 MPa (0.5 bar) at 2 l/min (low pressure) or 0.30 MPa (3.0 bar) at 2 l/min (standard pressure). The maximum supply pressure should not exceed 0.6 MPa (6 bar). The water inlet temperature should be below 35°C. A minimum downward slope of 2 cm/m is recommended for the water drain tube.
5. Electrical data: The coffee machine has a nominal power rating of 6.0-7.0 kW and requires a power supply of 380-415 V, 50/60 Hz (3/N/PE). It has an IP X0 degree of protection and belongs to Protection Class A.
6. Installation clearance: For operating, service, and safety reasons, the coffee machine should be installed with a clearance of at least 50mm at the sides and 60mm at the back from the building or non-WMF components. A minimum working space of 800mm in front of the machine is recommended. Clearance of at least 200mm above the product hopper is also advised.
7. Ventilation: Sufficient ventilation must be provided if the ventilation possibility is limited. This can include using machine feet extension, active ventilation, or additional ventilation slots/openings in the counter area. Ventilation slots must not be covered, and under certain circumstances, forced ventilation may be necessary.
8. Installation surface and water spray: The coffee machine should be placed and leveled on a horizontal, sturdy, water-resistant, and heatproof base. It should not be cleaned using a water jet and should be protected against water spray. Avoid locating the machine on a surface that is sprayed or cleaned with water hose, steam jets, steam cleaner, or similar devices.
9. Electrical connection: The coffee machine's electrical connection specifications are provided for EU countries. Additional country-specific regulations may also need to be observed. The local power supply must be constructed according to the valid IEC 364 (DIN VDE 0100) standards. The appropriate sockets and cables must be available near the machine, and any damaged mains cable should be replaced by service personnel or a qualified person.
10. Water supply and drainage: The water supply should be located close to the machine (maximum distance of 800mm). A water tap (preferably ball tap) and a dirt filter with a mesh size of 0.080mm must be installed below the counter in the water supply. If connected to a drain, a siphon must be installed in the drain pipe. For drinking water with carbonate hardness above 5°dKH, a WMF water filter is recommended.
