To calibrate the meter on the dbx 160 Compressor, follow these steps:
1. Depress the "Input Level" meter function switch on the front panel.
2. Connect a 1kHz signal at your desired nominal operating level to the compressor's input.
3. Adjust the meter calibration control on the rear panel until the meter indicates "0dB".
4. To check the meter calibration, rotate the "Meter Function" switch to the desired metering mode (input level, output level, or gain change) and verify that the meter reads accurately.
Note: The meter is factory calibrated to read "0" at +4dB output level. Recalibration may be necessary if your desired nominal operating level is different.
