To install the PQL 55049 LED Ready Fixtures Ceiling Light, it is recommended to hire a qualified licensed electrician. However, if you are familiar with electrical installations and have knowledge of your local electrical code, you can proceed with the installation. Here are the general steps to follow:
1. Before starting the installation, turn off the electrical power at the fuse or circuit breaker box.
2. Ensure that the supply voltage matches the information provided on the luminaire label.
3. Make all electrical and grounded connections in accordance with the National Electrical Code and any applicable local code requirements.
4. For single-end lamps, connect the power input wires to the one end only that will power the lamps (Side "A" in Fig. 1). Connect the black wire to LINE, the white wire to NEUTRAL, and the green fixture ground wire to GROUND. Do not hook up wires in the fixture going to Side "B" of the lamps.
5. For double-end lamps, additional non-shunted sockets and input wires may need to be added by the installer at the other end. Refer to the direct wire LED tube wiring diagram for specific wiring requirements.
6. If installing the fixture in high bays, remove the screws holding the reflectors to access the socket wiring. Connect the wires for either single-end or double-end as needed for the Bypass-Ready tubes being used. Follow the direct wire LED tube wiring diagram for specific wiring requirements. Reinstall the reflector with all screws provided before installing lamps.
7. Mount the fixture according to the specific mounting options for your fixture and application. This may include chain mounting with V-hooks, surface mounting with anchor screws or toggle bolts, or T-grid ceiling installation for troffers, parabolic, and direct/indirect fixtures.
