To install the American Dryer Advantage AD90-MH White Steel Wall Hair Dryer, please follow these steps:
1. Remove the cover by removing the two tamper-proof screws using the security wrench supplied. Pull the cover directly towards you. Make sure to save the security wrench.
2. Place the dryers at least 2 feet (61cm) apart and at least 12 inches (30cm) from the washbasin. Do not install the dryer over the washbasin. The dryers should be at least 18 inches (46cm) above any projection that may interfere with the operation of the automatic sensor. Hold the backplate to the wall at the suggested maximum mounting height and measure from the bottom edge of the backplate to the floor.
3. Mark the locations of the four mounting holes and the conduit entrance location on the wall. The conduit entrance is the proper hole diameter for 1/2 inch (13mm) conduit.
4. Fasten the backplate to the wall where previously marked. The recommended fasteners depend on the type of wall:
- Wood wall: Use No. 14 (M6) wood screws, 2-3/4 inches (70mm) long.
- Cement or brick: Use 1/4 inch (M6) stud expansion bolts, 3 inches (76mm) long.
- Hollow wall: Use 1/4 inch (M6) toggle bolts, length depends on wall thickness.
5. Run a single-phase 120V or 230V 50/60Hz electrical service wire to the dryer location using either the in-wall or bottom surface 1/2 inch conduit entrance. Connect the wire to the lead wires as shown on the dryer schematic. The ground wire must be connected to the dryer ground xxxx . It is important to use No. 12 or 14 wire as required by local electrical rules. The unit must be installed with a separate disconnect means by a qualified licensed electrician. Connect the dryer to a dedicated circuit not to exceed 20 amps. Dryers located in shower rooms or other wet locations should be equipped with ground fault interrupter(s).
6. Carefully replace the cover using the two tamper-proof screws supplied. Apply a bead of caulk around the edges of the cover to the wall.
Please note that these installation instructions are a summary and it is important to refer to the complete owner's manual for detailed instructions and safety precautions.
