To assemble and install the GAINSBOROUGH K204 20PC Mushroom Solar Stake Lights, please follow these steps:
1. Unpack the components carefully and ensure that all parts have been removed from the packaging.
2. Before using the lights for the first time, allow the solar panel to charge for at least 8 hours in full sunlight with the ON/OFF switch in the ON position. The ON/OFF switch is located under the solar panel. Once the batteries are fully charged, set the ON/OFF switch to ON. If the lights do not turn on after dark, refer to the Maintenance section of the manual.
3. Find an ideal place for the solar lights. Choose an area where the lights will receive direct sunlight for at least 8 hours per day. The number of hours the lights will illuminate is directly proportional to the hours of sunlight they receive. Avoid placing the lights in shaded areas as they may not fully charge and their illumination time will be limited. Also, avoid placing the lights near other outdoor lighting sources like porch or streetlights, as they may interfere with the sensor and prevent the lights from turning on or cause them to turn off automatically.
4. To insert the stakes into the ground, wet the ground first to make it easier. Select a spot in soft, rock-free soil to avoid damaging the garden stakes. Insert the base of the stake first and then gently insert the rest of the stake into the base. Do not push directly against the solar cell or the ornament housing containing the LED light.
5. The lights have three settings: ON, OFF, and FLASHING. Set the desired lighting mode using the switch located under the solar panel.
6. To maintain the lights, clean the solar panel with a soft sponge every couple of weeks. Ensure that all connectors are tight and no water is getting in.
If you encounter any issues with the lights not turning on automatically at night, please check the following troubleshooting steps:
- Make sure the switch is in the ON position.
- Ensure that the solar panel is positioned where it receives plenty of direct sunlight. Avoid placing it in shaded areas.
- If the lights are not functional or very dim during summer months, the battery may need replacement. Replace it with a new 1.2V AA 300mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery.
- Check if the battery is firmly in contact with the terminals at each end of the battery holder.
- Clean the solar panel with a damp sponge, cloth, or paper towel if it appears dirty.
- If there are strong light sources nearby, the lights may be dim or not turn on.
Please note that the rechargeable battery's lifespan is approximately 6-12 months, and when it becomes dim or non-functional, it may be time to change the battery. Follow the instructions in the manual to replace the battery.
