To install the Alecto SA-201 Mini Smoke Detector, follow these steps:
1. Choose the installation location: Install the first smoke detector near the bedroom, ensuring that it is placed so that at least one exit route would still be accessible if it detects fire. It is recommended to place one alarm near each potential blockade of your exit route. Install at least one smoke detector on each floor of your house and in each room where people smoke or where there is equipment that may potentially cause a fire.
2. Avoid certain locations: Do not install the smoke detector in the kitchen, shower or bathroom, garage, in front of a fan or near the exhaust of an air conditioner or heater, in a ceiling nook, or in rooms where the temperature could reach below -10°C or beyond 40°C.
3. Attach the ceiling plate: Use the included plugs and screws to attach the ceiling plate to the desired location on the ceiling. Wall mounting is not recommended for smoke detection.
4. Twist the detector into place: Place the smoke detector onto the ceiling plate and twist it clockwise to lock it in place.
5. Perform the first test: Hold the test button on the smoke detector for at least 2 seconds to perform the first test. The smoke detector should emit 2 or 3 signal tones to indicate correct operation.
