To configure the HMC6000RM controller for remote start/stop operation, follow these steps:
1. Connect the HMC6000RM controller to the HMC6000A/HMC6000A2 local monitor and control module via the CANBUS port.
2. Set the operating mode of the controller. Press and hold the "Set/Confirm" key for more than 3 seconds to enter the parameter configuration menu. Use the up/down keys to navigate to the operating mode setting. Select "0" for monitoring mode or "1" for surveilling mode.
3. Configure an auxiliary input port of the HMC6000A/HMC6000A2 as the remote start input. This input will be used to initiate the remote start/stop sequence.
4. Start the remote start sequence by activating the "Remote Start" mode. The controller will initiate a start delay timer and display the countdown on the LCD. After the start delay, the preheat relay (if configured) will energize, and the fuel relay and start relay will engage to crank the engine for a pre-set time. If the engine fails to start, the crank rest time will begin, and the sequence will repeat until the set number of attempts is reached.
5. If the engine starts successfully, the "Safety On" timer will activate, followed by the "Start Idle" delay (if configured). After the start idle, if the controller detects regular values for rotate speed, temperature, and oil pressure, the generator will enter normal running status.
6. To stop the generator remotely, activate the "Remote Stop" or "Stop Input" signal. The stop delay timer will initiate, followed by the stop idle delay (if configured). After the stop idle, the ETS solenoid hold will begin, and the generator will go through a complete stop sequence. If the generator fails to stop, a fail to stop alarm will be displayed.
7. The HMC6000RM controller can also be used for remote monitoring of data and records without remote start/stop in surveilling mode.
