Installation and usage of the Mills UltraCrete Mortar Buoy are straightforward. Here is a step-by-step guide:
1. Prepare the access chamber: Ensure that the access chamber is clean and free from any debris or loose material.
2. Fit the Mortar Buoy: Place the deflated Mortar Buoy into the access chamber, ensuring that it covers the entire opening. The Mortar Buoy should fit snugly against the walls of the chamber.
3. Inflate the Mortar Buoy: Using a suitable inflation device, such as a hand pump or air compressor, inflate the Mortar Buoy until it forms a tight seal against the walls of the access chamber. Take care not to overinflate, as this may cause damage to the Mortar Buoy.
4. Pour the mortar: Once the Mortar Buoy is securely inflated, you can proceed with pouring the flowable mortar, such as Envirobed® CD534 Flowable/Envirobed® CD534 Flowable Red, into the access chamber. The Mortar Buoy acts as a dam, preventing the mortar from seeping into the chamber and ensuring a seamless finish.
5. Finish the installation: After pouring the mortar, allow it to cure according to the manufacturer's instructions. Once cured, the Mortar Buoy can be deflated and removed from the access chamber. It can be cleaned and stored for future use.
