To install the kvm-tec First Aid extender, follow these steps:
1. Connect the CON/Remote Unit and the CPU/Local Unit to the included 12V 1A power supply.
2. Connect a USB cable from your PC to the CPU/Local Unit. Connect the keyboard and mouse to the CON/Remote Unit.
3. Use a network cable to connect the CPU/Local Unit and the CON/Remote Unit.
4. Connect a DVI cable from the PC's DVI socket to the CPU/Local Unit's DVI socket (PC-in).
5. Connect the monitor to the CON/Remote Unit using a DVI cable.
6. Optional: If you want to connect audio, use an audio cable to connect the PC's audio/out to the local audio/in. You can also connect the audio/out to the microphone using another audio cable.
7. If you are using a switch, connect all endpoints to the switch. Ensure that all connections have a bandwidth of 1Gbit/sec. For video sharing, the network must support IGMP snooping (Switch Layer3).
Once the installation is complete, you can access the main menu using the monitor and keyboard. Press the Scroll Lock button five times quickly to display the main menu and an overview of the submenus. Use the corresponding keys to enter the desired submenu.
