To install the FURMAN PL-PRO C power conditioner, follow these steps:
1. Choose a suitable location: Select a stable and well-ventilated location for the power conditioner. Ensure that it is not exposed to water or high heat sources.
2. Connect the power cord: Plug the power cord of the PL-PRO C into a 120VAC, 50Hz/60Hz, 20 amp grounded electrical outlet. Do not modify the grounding or polarization of the power plug.
3. Connect your equipment: Connect your audio/video equipment to the eight rear panel AC outlets on the PL-PRO C. Use the three outlets with wide spacing and hook and loop straps for transformers (wall warts). It is recommended to connect analog equipment to Bank A and digital equipment to Bank B for optimal performance.
4. Use the front panel convenience outlet: The PL-PRO C has a front panel convenience outlet that can be used for easy access to power. Plug in any device you want to connect to this outlet.
5. Use the USB charger: The PL-PRO C features a front panel mounted USB charger. You can use it to charge electronic accessories and cellular communication devices by plugging in the recharge cord.
6. Illuminate your rack: The PL-PRO C has two Smooth Track retractable LED lights on the front panel. Use the dimmer control to adjust the brightness or turn the lamps on and off. For rear rack illumination, use a standard (12VAC 0.5 amp) gooseneck lamp connected to the BNC connector on the rear panel.
7. Monitor the voltage: The PL-PRO C has a 20-segment LED tri-color AC voltage meter on the front panel. It allows you to easily verify the voltage range from a distance. The meter displays incoming voltage in 2-volt steps and helps you ensure that the voltage is within a safe range.
8. Ensure safety: Follow the safety instructions provided in the manual to prevent electrical shock and ensure proper operation of the power conditioner. Do not attempt to service the unit beyond what is described in the manual.
