To install the Power Shield PSGL1500 Interactive Gaming UPS, follow these steps:
1. Choose a proper location: Place the UPS on a flat and clean surface away from vibration, dust, humidity, high temperature, flammable liquids, gases, corrosive and conductive contaminants. Install the UPS indoors in a clean environment, away from windows and doors.
2. Connect the UPS input: Plug the UPS into a two-pole, three-wire, grounded receptacle. Avoid using extension cords. Charge the battery for at least 5 hours before initial use.
3. Connect the UPS output: Connect your computer and monitor to the battery backup outlets on the UPS. These outlets provide battery backup, EMI filtering, line conditioning, and surge protection. Do not connect laser printers or scanners to the UPS.
4. Connect the communication port and install software: Connect one end of the USB cable to your PC and the other end to the USB port at the rear of the UPS. Download the latest version of NetGuard® Software from the PowerShield website and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the software installation.
5. Turn on the UPS: Press and hold the ON/OFF button on the front panel of the UPS for 2 seconds. The UPS will beep once, and the LED bars will light up in different colors. The LCD display will also light up.
