To use the Southwire MSBST250 Smart Box Shark Tooth with Hole Saw for installing a fixture on drywall, follow these steps:
1. Determine the location on the wall where you want to install the fixture. Note that the location must be between studs.
2. Mark the wall or ceiling at the center point for the box location.
3. Place the tip of the Shark Tooth pilot bit on the center mark.
4. Use a 9/16" (14mm) nut driver or a 9/16" (14mm) socket with a nut driver bit to secure it onto the molded hex nut inside the box.
5. Start drilling while applying pressure towards the wall.
6. Once the pilot bit pierces the drywall, lower the angle of the drill slightly to the drywall surface. This allows a small section of the blade to touch down onto the drywall first.
7. Continue cutting into the wall while holding the drill at a slight angle. Refer to the illustration on the back of the manual for guidance.
8. Once the hole is cut, pull the Shark Tooth out of the wall. Use the tabs on the sides of the saw blade to remove them.
Important Note: Do not use an impact driver for this process. Hold the drill at a slight angle to the wall while cutting the hole.
