To connect the SP tools SP62042 Professional Timing Light to your vehicle, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the ignition. Do not connect the timing light with the ignition on or the engine running.
2. Clamp the inductive pickup clip around the No. 1 spark plug wire, making sure the arrow on the clip points towards the spark plug.
3. If applicable, connect the green DWELL clip to the negative (tach) side of the ignition coil.
4. Connect the red battery clip to the battery's positive (+) terminal.
5. Connect the black battery clip to the battery's negative (-) terminal or a bare metal chassis ground.
6. Attach the pickup leads into the bottom of the timing light handle.
Please refer to the user manual for any additional instructions or safety precautions specific to your vehicle.
