To install the Hunter 51503 Lilliput 44 Inch Matte LED Indoor Ceiling Fan, follow these steps:
1. Before starting the installation, make sure to turn off the power by turning off the circuit breakers to the outlet box and associated wall switch location.
2. Choose the right installation location by checking the room dimensions and the outlet box.
3. If you have a flat ceiling, hang the fan by a standard downrod. If you have an angled or vaulted ceiling, you will need a longer downrod and an angled mounting kit if the ceiling angle is greater than 34°.
4. Install the ceiling bracket using either machine screws (provided with outlet box) or wood screws (included) depending on your installation type.
5. Install the downrod by removing the pre-installed setscrew, passing all wires to one side of the horizontal bar in the downrod assembly, and hand tightening the downrod. Make sure to tighten the setscrew with pliers to prevent the fan from falling.
6. Hang the fan by attaching it to the ceiling bracket.
7. Wire the fan according to your wall switch setup. If you have a single switch, connect the white wire from the ceiling to the white wire from the fan, and connect the black wire from the ceiling to the black and blue wires from the fan. If you have dual switches, follow the steps provided in the manual.
8. Install the canopy and blades according to the instructions provided.
9. Assemble the light kit by partially installing the light kit assembly screws, feeding the 9-pin plug connector through the center hole in the light kit assembly, and connecting it to the plug connector in the switch housing area. Install the switch housing plate and align the keyhole slots to secure the light kit assembly.
10. Install the bulbs and glass, and then install the pull chains.
11. If desired, you can reverse the fan's direction by turning off the fan and sliding the reversing switch inside the light fixture. Restart the fan to change the direction of air flow.
