To install the Danfoss RT102 Wrap On Thermostat, please follow the steps below:
1. Ensure that you have the necessary components, including the thermostat itself and the Pg13.5 cable gland (included in a separate bag).
2. If you want to achieve an IP66 grade enclosure (for units with automatic reset) or an IP54 grade enclosure (for units with external reset), you need to assemble the cable gland as shown in Figure 3 of the installation guide. If you are not using the gland with a cable, you should also assemble a metal blinding.
3. Once the gland is assembled, you can proceed with the setting of the thermostat.
4. The thermostat has three main settings: Range setting (A), Differential obtained (B), and Differential setting (C).
5. The range setting determines whether the thermostat makes or breaks the circuit on a drop in temperature. This setting is done by rotating the xxxx (5) while reading the main scale (9).
6. The differential is set by rotating the differential adjusting nut (19) to the value indicated by the nomogram in Figure 4. The maximum operating temperature is the sum of the temperature setting and the differential.
Example: Let's say you want to control the temperature of an oil-fired central heating boiler using the RT 101 thermostat. The maximum temperature is 76 °C, the minimum temperature is 70 °C, and the differential is 6 °C.
- Connect the oil burner to terminals 2-1 of the thermostat.
- Set the thermostat to 70 °C by rotating the xxxx (5).
- Set the differential adjusting nut (19) between figures 3 and 4, as indicated by the nomogram in the manual.
