According to the owner's manual, the air filter should be checked every 3 or 4 weeks and cleaned or replaced whenever it becomes dirty. Dirty filters can cause excessive stress on the blower motor and affect the efficiency of the unit. To clean or replace the air filter, you will need to remove the filter access panel using a 5/16-in. nut driver. Remove the filter and clean or replace it as necessary. When installing a new filter, make sure the airflow arrows on the filter frame are pointing at the indoor coil. Reinstall the filter access panel to ensure it is air and water-tight. It is important to never operate the unit without filters in place, as this can lead to loss of efficiency and damage to the blower motor and compressor.
