To attach the DAKTRONICS DVN-3002 Series Panel to a substructure, you have two options: direct attachment or integrated clip attachment.
1. Direct Attachment:
- Use the supplied M6x1 - 20 mm hex-head bolts (Daktronics part number HC-3464941) and an M6 nutsert.
- Insert one M6 bolt in each of the lower corners on each panel.
- Insert one M6 bolt in each of the upper corners on the bottom row of panels only.
- Refer to the contract-specific Shop Drawing for additional details.
2. Integrated Clip Attachment:
- The panels have four cutouts capable of attaching an optional integrated clip.
- Clips pass through the cutout and attach with a threaded M6 bolt.
- There is a 1/2" slot for Z-axis adjustment.
- The bottom row of panels requires one integrated clip per corner.
- Panels above the bottom row require one integrated clip in each of the upper corners.
- Prepare each panel based on its location in the display.
Clip Orientation:
- For the bottom row, use a flat screwdriver to pry the tab out of the chassis backsheet in the lower two corners.
- Flip the orientation of the lower integrated clips toward the inside of the panel so that they do not show below the bottom border.
- Install an M6X10 hex button head cap xxxx through the chassis nutsert and threaded hole in the integrated clip. Set the Z-axis adjustment so that the clip is tight against the panel.
- Orient the upper clips so they show above the top border, allowing the clip to cradle and provide an attachment point for upper panels.
- Repeat the installation steps for the upper clips.
Panel Installation:
- Use a level throughout the installation process to ensure each panel is level in the X and Y directions.
- Start with the bottom row attachment, stitching panels together with M6x1 - 20 mm hex flange interconnect bolts.
- Position the first panels in the bottom-center of the display and attach them to the substructure using M6 interconnect bolts.
- Work outward, attaching adjacent panels together and verifying plumbness.
- For middle rows, attach the panels vertically using M6 interconnect bolts and ensure they are plumb, flat, and level to each other.
- Continue building outwards to fill each row and upwards to the top row.
- For the top row, ensure the panels are level and plumb. If using the integrated clip attachment method, ensure the top row of integrated clips is oriented to not show above the top border.
- Tighten the appropriate screws on top of each panel.
