To test a residual current device (RCD) using the PeakTech 2710 Digital Residual Current Devices Tester, follow these steps:
1. Select the appropriate sensitivity (I△n) for the RCD using the RANGE button. The options are 10mA, 30mA, 100mA, 300mA, 500mA, or 1000mA.
2. Choose the type of RCD you are testing: normal (N) or selective/delayed (S). Use the right-hand button to make the selection.
3. Determine if the RCD reacts to a positive half-cycle (0°) or a negative half-cycle (180°) of current. The tester is set to a positive half-cycle by default. If you need to test with a negative half-cycle, change the setting accordingly.
4. Decide if you want to measure in current (mA) or time (ms). Select the desired measurement unit using the appropriate button.
5. Press the TEST button to initiate the test. The digital display will show the measurement result.
Please note that these instructions are a general overview of how to test an RCD using the PeakTech 2710 Digital Residual Current Devices Tester. For more detailed instructions and safety precautions, please refer to the user manual provided with the product.
