To set up the iOptron CEM26 mount, follow these steps:
1. Remove the mount head from the package, ensuring that the RA axle is locked with the provided Allen wrench.
2. Set up the tripod by threading the Alignment Peg onto the tripod head and inserting the Accessory Tray through the center rod.
3. Attach the mount head to the tripod by retracting the Azimuth Adjustment Screws and removing the Azimuth Locking Screws. Secure the mount head by tightening the Azi Locking Screws into the M6 holes on the tripod.
4. Adjust the latitude by loosening the Latitude Locking Lever and turning the Latitude Adj. xxxx until the arrow points to the current latitude on the Latitude Scale. Tighten the Latitude Locking Lever.
5. Install the counterweight shaft by threading it into the mounting holes. For low latitudes (<10°), a special mounting house may be needed.
6. Install the counterweight by ensuring the mount is at its zero position, disengaging the R.A. Gear Switch, and removing the CW Safety Cap. Glide the counterweight over the shaft with the larger opening facing down and tighten the CW Locking xxxx .
7. Install the telescope by releasing the dovetail Saddle Locking xxxx and sliding the telescope dovetail plate into the saddle. Tighten the Saddle Locking xxxx .
8. Balance the payload by adjusting the scope and accessories in both the DEC and RA axes until they are balanced.
9. Connect the necessary cables, such as the DEC control unit to the DEC port, the Hand Controller to the HBX port, and the power supply to the DC12V IN socket.
10. Set the controller by pressing the MENU button, selecting "Settings," and then "Set Time & Site." Enter the current date, time zone offset, and other location information.
11. Perform polar alignment using either the iPolarTM electronic polar scope or the AccuAlignTM optical polar scope, following the instructions provided in the user manual.
12. Once the mount is aligned, it can be used to observe astronomical objects using the Hand Controller. Use the arrow keys to point the telescope, change slewing speed with the number keys, and press STOP/0 to start tracking.
13. To put the mount back into the package or carrying case, return it to the Zero Position, disengage the gear system, and lock the RA axis with the Allen wrench.
