To connect an external power supply to the CNC3D Nighthawk CNC Controller for the laser module, you will need to follow the instructions provided in the manual. Here is a step-by-step guide:
1. Ensure you have read and understood all the safety precautions mentioned in the manual, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and the involvement of a licensed electrician for any 240V wiring.
2. If you are using your own power supply, follow the wiring diagram provided in the manual. Connect the DC+ and GND wires from the power supply to power the laser module. Connect the yellow PWM wire from the Nighthawk controller to the PWM pin on the power supply. Connect the black wire from the 3P pin on the Nighthawk controller to the GND wire on the power supply. It doesn't matter which side of the 3-Pin connector the black wire is connected to, but it is recommended to connect it on the supply side.
3. If you are using the CNC3D kit, follow the wiring diagram provided in the manual. Remove the Red, Yellow, and White cables from the long 10-pin connector on your Nighthawk controller. Insert these cables into the green 3-pin connector that came with your kit, making sure to match the colors of the wires. Insert the free ends of the yellow and black wires (already attached) into the PWM and 3P pins on the long 10-pin connector, respectively.
4. Once the wiring is complete, your laser module should be connected to the external power supply and controlled by the Nighthawk controller. Remember to turn on the laser power supply before starting any job.
