To set up the lock face security code for your Sanctuary Safe, follow these steps:
1. Swipe your finger(s) across the keypad to "wake up" and activate the lock face. Two random numbers will illuminate when the lock face wakes up.
2. Individually press both of the two numbers, in any order, to allow full access to the keypad.
3. Insert the factory preset code of 1-5-9-# to unlock the safe in DEFAULT MODE. Note: Do not use this code while securing items in your safe.
4. Inside the safe door, locate the small brass cap and unscrew it to reveal the red reset button.
5. Press and release the reset button. You will hear a beep, and the yellow (left) light on the lock face will illuminate, indicating you are now in programming mode.
6. While the yellow light is illuminated, enter your new 3 to 8-digit security code, followed by [*]. The lock face will beep twice, indicating successful programming.
7. While the safe door is still open, confirm your newly entered security code. Swipe the keypad with your finger(s) to wake it up. Enter the two random numbers, followed by your new 3-8 digit code, and then press (#). If successful, you will hear a beep, and the green light will illuminate, allowing you to open the safe.
Always remember to swipe your finger(s) across the surface of the keypad to wake it up before entering your security codes. Do not shut the safe door until you have confirmed your new security code at least 3 times to ensure it has been saved and you can open the door successfully. If the code fails, the yellow light will flash and beep. Repeat the steps above until successful.
Note: If you enter the incorrect security code 3 times, there will be an automatic lockout for 30 seconds before you can enter your code again. If 3 additional failed attempts are made, the lock face will lockout for 5 minutes. Leave the batteries in to go through the lockout cycle. If the batteries are removed, the timer will restart from zero.
