To clean the GBA ST2 bill validator, follow these steps:
1. Ensure the power supply to the GBA ST2 unit is switched OFF.
2. Disconnect the external host loom.
3. Move the two purple latches inwards to unlatch and then gently pivot the top section backwards to open and remove it.
4. Use a cotton swab or lint-free cloth dipped in a cleaning solution (water mixed with up to 50% Iso-Propyl Alcohol) to carefully clean all sensors and plastic windows using light force only.
5. Continue to clean the note path, rollers, and belts using the swab or cloth.
6. Use an additional swab or cloth to dry the area that was cleaned, if necessary.
7. Re-attach the top housing and gently push down on the lid until the latches re-engage.
8. Re-connect the host loom.
9. Switch the power supply back ON.
Note: Anti-static precautions should always be observed when cleaning the GBA ST2 unit. Do not use solvent-based cleaning agents, such as Amberclens, pure alcohol, petrol, methylated spirit, or white spirit, as they can severely damage the unit.
Please refer to the "Maintenance" section of the Astro GBA ST2 Global Bill Acceptors Instruction Manual for more detailed instructions and precautions.
