To mount the BD SENSORS DMP 331 Industrial Pressure Transmitter, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the device is in a depressurized and de-energized condition before mounting.
2. Do not remove the packaging or protective caps until shortly before the mounting procedure to prevent damage to the diaphragm and threads. Keep the protective caps for future use and dispose of the packaging properly.
3. If there is an increased risk of damage to the device by lightning strike or overvoltage, provide increased lightning protection.
4. When installing the device, avoid high mechanical stresses on the pressure port, as this can result in a shift of the characteristic curve or damage, especially for devices with small pressure ranges and plastic pressure ports.
5. In hydraulic systems, position the device in such a way that the pressure port points upward for ventilation.
6. If the device is installed with the pressure port pointing upwards, ensure that no liquid drains off onto the device. This could result in humidity and dirt blocking the gauge reference in the housing and lead to malfunctions. If necessary, remove dust and dirt from the edge of the screwed joint of the electrical connection.
7. The permissible tightening torque for the pressure transmitter depends on the conditions on-site. Do not exceed the specified tightening torques to avoid damage.
8. If mounting outdoors or in a moist environment, ensure that there is no dew point that causes condensation and can damage the pressure transmitter. Contact the manufacturer for specially protected pressure transmitters for these operating conditions.
9. Connect the device electrically straightaway after mounting or prevent moisture penetration by using a suitable protective cap. Ensure that the cable is routed properly and within the permissible clamping range.
10. Mount the device in a position protected from direct solar radiation to prevent the exceeding of the permissible operating temperature.
11. For devices with gauge reference in the housing, install the device in a way that protects the gauge reference from dirt and moisture. Fluid admission can block the functionality of the gauge reference and lead to measurement inaccuracies or damages.
12. For devices with 3-A symbol, ensure that the surfaces are self-draining and mount the welding socket flush inside the tank.
13. Follow the specific mounting steps provided in the manual for different types of connections, such as DIN 3852, EN 837, NPT, G1" cone connection, dairy pipe connections, clamp and Varivent connections, and flange connections.
Please refer to the BD SENSORS DMP 331 Industrial Pressure Transmitter User Manual for more detailed instructions and illustrations on the mounting process.
