To set up the mattress replacement system, follow these steps:
1. Setting up the mattress:
- Remove any existing mattress from the bed.
- Ensure there are no protruding parts or sharp objects on the bed that could damage the mattress.
- Lay the mattress on the bed surface, making sure the air pipe connector is situated on the bottom left-hand side of the bed's foot end.
2. Setting up the power unit:
- Unfold the hanging hooks on the rear of the power unit.
- Hang the power unit from the bed's footboard. Alternatively, you can place it on the floor at the foot of the bed.
3. Connecting the mattress to the power unit:
- Remove the cover of the air pipe connector.
- Connect the air pipe connector to the power unit.
- Ensure the air tubes are free from obstructions and not kinked.
- Plug the power cable into a suitable electrical socket.
- Switch on the power unit using the mains power switch located at the side of the power unit.
4. Adjusting the mattress settings:
- Once the mattress is fully inflated, set the mattress to the appropriate setting for the patient.
- Use the + and - buttons on the control panel to set the patient's weight in kilograms.
- If the patient's weight is between 140-244kg, set it at the highest setting.
- The pressure of the mattress can be adjusted to suit the patient if required.
